The Romania Awards were founded to make people and projects visible that enrich our society through their commitment and creativity. We work closely with cultural institutions, foundations, and independent juries to ensure fair and transparent selection processes. Our team consists of experienced event planners, cultural scientists, and communication experts. Each award ceremony is individually designed – from a gala at the concert hall to a regional honor in the community. We value a dignified atmosphere where the award winners are the focus. Responsible for the overall coordination of major gala evenings. Hannes brings over 15 years of experience from the events industry and ensures smooth operations.

Artistic Direction

Lisa Pilz B.Eng.

Curates the selection of award winners and designs the cultural program. Lisa has co-developed several nationwide cultural awards and knows the scene from her own practice.

Communications & Press

Clemens Kern B.A.

Manages public relations and contact with media partners. Clemens was previously responsible for the press work of a major theater festival.

Who can receive an award?

Our prizes are aimed at individuals, groups, and organizations from the fields of art, culture, science, and community work. The exact criteria vary by category and are published in the respective call for entries.

How does the application process work?

You submit your documents via the online form on our website. After checking for completeness, the submissions are presented to an expert jury. The finalists are notified and invited to the awards ceremony.

Is there a participation fee?

For most categories, we do not charge an application fee. For some special prizes, a small administrative fee may apply, which is clearly stated in the call for entries.

When and where do the award ceremonies take place?

The festive galas are held several times a year at changing locations in Germany and Austria. The exact dates and venues are announced in good time on our events page.

Can I attend an event without being nominated?

Yes, many of our events are open to the public. You can purchase tickets via our website. The number of seats is limited, so we recommend early booking.

How can I nominate my project for an award?

You can send us a recommendation at any time by email to info@romaniaawards.com. Please include a brief description and justification. The nomination team reviews all submissions and forwards them to the relevant jury.
